A few pics from today. The march went from Earths General Store to Gazebo park today.
About 100 people showed up, pretty good for only 2 days notice.
( Cut to save your frinds page )I would add some back story to this, but the organizer Glen McLean (dude in last 2 pics) didn't want to give me any info. He seemed to be mistrusting, and seemed to think the Chinese government was watching him. Like the Chinese government would care about an old vegetarian activist in Edmonton. But it's ok to give his info to the major news media.
As such he wouldn't give me his name, or much of any information. He actually asked me "What's your angle?". He gave me a non-existent Facebook name to use. Since he didn't want to give me any info, and lied to me, all bets are off. I support what he is trying to acomplish in trying to bring awairness of this issue to the people, but alienating anyone who is wanting to help spread your message is not a good idea. Most everyone else there were really nice, and seemed to want to talk about the Tibetan peoples struggle, but this guy is just an old burned out whackjob which does not help his cause.
If you want to get involved, contact your MP, or better yet, send a letter to your Prime Minister in Ottawa. I hear he likes getting mail.
